If you're anything like us, you've attended a lot of weddings in 2022 and 2023. With 4 years worth of marriages being crammed into 2 post-covid years, the wedding industry has certainly been busy.
One of the best things about attending so many weddings in such a short space of time is getting to see all the unique touches the bride & groom add to their special day.
2022 reportedly held the largest number of weddings in a single year! This flurry of weddings has made making your wedding 'unique' has become harder than ever. No matter what amazing ideas or bespoke touches you include in your wedding day, you just know it's probably been done before.
Let's manage our expectations slightly. For our own sake and sanity, instead of trying to generate completely original ideas, let's shift the focus to unique ideas your friends & family may not have seen before. For example, I had singing waiters at my wedding, a far from original idea, but none of my guest had seen or heard of the concept before. Win!
When it comes to wedding stationery, bespoke requests are always super exciting. We're so used to personalising our pre-made templates, it's always a pleasant surprise when we receive a request for an idea we haven't done before. It sparks our creativity and reminds us why we love what we do.
One of our more recent ranges bridges the gap between 'unique' and 'template' with beautiful results. Our venue sketch designs offer the tailored results of a personal piece (a hand-drawn venue illustration of your wedding venue), whilst benefitting from the speedy design process and lower price points of our template designs.
Our Formats & Styles
Our venue drawing invitations are available in 2 styles - black and white sketch and colour illustration. Each style is available in 4 fantastic invitation formats:
Single Card Invitation: Our single card format is a simple 5x7" invitation which can be printed single sided or double sided. This format is a popular choice for the evening celebrations, but also works nicely for day invites. For an additional twist, you can include extra insert cards, belly bands and wax seals.
Concertina Invitation: Our concertina invitations (aka All In One Invitation) is our best seller and you can see why. It's cost effective and practical. Your guest will unfold their stylish invitation and learn everything about your wedding, information about the day and with a tear away slip on the bottom panel, sending back their RSVPs is very easy.
Gatefold Invitation: Our gatefold format is the epitome of elegance. Two sleek gatefold flaps open up to reveal your wedding details and venue drawing in all it's glory. Belly bands are a popular addition to our gatefold invitations and will contain your invitation and any additional inserts you'd like to include.
Wallet Fold Invitation: Our newest addition combines to all in one elements of the concertina invitations with the elegance of the gatefold. Wax seals are included with all wallet fold invitations so you don't have to worry about ordering these separately.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I order day invitations and evening invitations at the same time?
Yes you're very welcome to order your day and evening invitations at the same time. All of our invites can be adapted for the reception too. If you're using the same illustration for both set of invitations, you'll receive a discount price for the second set because the cost of the drawing is included in the listed price. With this in mind, rather than purchasing through the listings, get in touch and let us know how many of each you'd like and we'll create a custom quote for you.
Can I use my drawing for additional stationery in the future?
Absolutely. Your drawing is yours to use for anything else you'd like in the future. We'll keep it on file, so just let us know when you're ready for more wedding stationery. If you'd like the digital file of your venue drawing, let us know when the drawing is complete.
Can you include people and animals in your illustrations?
Yes we can create drawings which include people, animals and anything else you'd like to include in your venue drawing.
Do you print envelope addresses?
We do print envelope addresses. These can be ordered through our envelope address printing listing, or send us a message before you purchase and we'll provide you with a quote. You can typeset your envelope addresses using our online design tool. If you'd prefer we created your addresses, let us know and we'll send you the formatting requirements for submitting your address data.
Do you have any tips on which venue photo would work best for a venue illustration?
We receive hundreds of venue photos every week and whilst we haven't seen a bad illustration yet, we do have a a personal preference for what photos work best. 1. High resolution photos will allow us to see the detail in the building to accurately reflect this on your drawing. 2. Photos showing the full width of the building work very nicely as this gives a nice overview and edge to your illustration. 3. All angles work, but face on shots are our personal favourites.
Can I change the colours and typography?
Yes you can change the colours and typography to suit you. Let us know your design requirements when you send your wording over. For the typography, you can send us a font you've seen elsewhere online, or direct us to one of our other design templates to font match.
Can I print my venue illustration on the front of the gatefold invitations?
We advise not to do this. As with all digital print, there is occasionally a small shift to the design in the production process. This is why all digital artwork requires a 3mm bleed as an industry standard. As a result of this potential shift, there's a risk when trying to align fine details (text, artwork, photos) over the fold, that it might not quite line up correctly. Even the smallest shift could look very skewed. This shift would otherwise go unnoticed. It's also worth nothing that if you order a sample to test the alignment before placing a full order, the single sample won't be representative of the batch as the shift could occur in any or many of the full order prints.
Do you do matching save the dates?
Yes we do have matching save the dates - in black and white and colour.
