Our Values
-
EASY
We put our customers at the centre of every decision. That means making the process of ordering your wedding stationery or gift as smooth and stress-free as possible, whether you're planning a big celebration or a thoughtful surprise.
-
FAST
We design fast, we print fast, and we dispatch fast, without ever compromising on quality. Because you shouldn’t have to wait weeks to receive something special.
-
QUALITY
Quality is everything to us. It’s in the card stock we use, the way we pack each item, the print finishes we offer, and the customer support we deliver. Every detail matters.
The Story of TavernCreative
TavernCreative began in a small bedroom of a house share in Lewisham. John was working full-time at a luxury printers in Mayfair while freelancing on the side. In October 2017, he took the leap, handed in his notice, and officially launched TavernCreative.
The dream? To make lots of sales and retire to a tropical island sipping Piña Coladas.
The reality? Not a single sale for three and a half weeks.
With his limited savings steadily disappearing, John was driving back to his hometown in Kent for the weekend when he heard the infamous Etsy “cha-ching” - his very first sale. From that moment, TavernCreative slowly began to grow. Reviews started rolling in, orders increased, and our little brand began making wedding stationery for couples around the world.
In 2019, we hired our first team member.
In 2020, the pandemic hit and sales stopped overnight. For about four months, everything paused. It was a scary time for a small business, but somehow, we held on and made it through the lockdowns of 2020 and 2021.
Then came 2022, the biggest year for weddings in recorded history. It was all systems go.
In 2023, we expanded our range to include personalised gifts alongside our wedding stationery, from personalised aprons to custom travel accessories. Today, we continue to evolve, investing in new finishes, tools and techniques to bring the best possible products to life.
You can now find us on our website, Etsy, Not On The High Street, Amazon, the occasional TikTok (when our inner Gen Z appears), and most regularly on Instagram. We’re a small team based in Kent, and we’re here to stay, doing what we love and helping you celebrate life’s biggest moments.
Much love,
John, Luke & Laura

Fun Fact #1
We once hand-delivered an order to Spain (we were going on holiday there anyway, but it still counts).

Fun Fact #2
Our biggest ever order was for 10,000 invitations. A corporate event in the United States (yes, the shipping bill was wild).

Fun Fact #3
We’ve shipped orders to the Northern Mariana Islands. If you don’t know where that is, it’s near Guam. If you don’t know where Guam is… it’s really, really far away.

Fun Fact #4
We were named in Cosmopolitan’s Best Wedding Invitations list in 2021

Fun Fact #5
We make all of our wax seals in-house, and even produce our own sealing wax by hand... because we’re that into the details.
