Amy & Phil

Amy and Phil’s late May wedding at Broadfield Court was relaxed, thoughtful and rooted in the countryside they call home. With a soft pastel palette, outdoor celebrations and a strong focus on supporting local suppliers, their day felt calm, personal and beautifully considered from start to finish.

Broadfield Court’s elegant house and expansive Herefordshire grounds set the scene perfectly, giving them the freedom to shape the day around how they wanted to celebrate, rather than following a rigid format.

Choosing the venue

Herefordshire was always the right place. Although Phil grew up in Cheshire, it is where they now live and where Amy was born. Broadfield Court felt instantly familiar, not just because of its setting, but because it felt like a home rather than a venue.

They fell in love with the house interiors, the views across the countryside and the flexibility to tailor the day to suit their style. Being a family run venue, the atmosphere felt welcoming and relaxed, which mattered just as much as how it looked.

They made the most of the long Bank Holiday weekend too, hosting immediate family from Friday through to Sunday, with their two spaniels joining in the celebrations and appearing in the wedding photos.

The dress and bridal details

Amy wore an Essense of Australia gown from Perfections Bridal Studio, chosen after visiting nine different boutiques. She knew she wanted a long sleeved fit and flare style with a low neckline, and when she tried this dress on, she finally had that this is it feeling.

The champagne underlayer gave depth to the lace and worked beautifully with the soft pastel tones running through the day.

One of the most meaningful details was her veil. Amy wore her mum’s veil from 1973, preserved in perfect condition for 50 years. With her parents celebrating their golden wedding anniversary just weeks before, it felt incredibly special to wear something so full of family history.

Flowers were by May Rose Floral Design, with a delicate flower comb finishing the look.

Shoes, beauty and finishing touches

Amy chose Freya Rose London shoes for the ceremony, opting for height to avoid hemming the lace dress. The Monica Pearl Heels brought shimmer and elegance, with Kate Spade pumps ready for later in the day.

Hair was styled by Rebecca Claire Salon, with make up by Anastasia Grikinis, both creating a calm and effortless bridal look.

Jewellery was by Lily & Roo, including diamond and freshwater pearl earrings and a lariat necklace that complemented the neckline of the dress without overpowering it.

Bridesmaids and the groom

Bridesmaids wore oyster toned multi style dresses from Victoria Lou Bridal, allowing each of them to choose a style that suited them while keeping the look cohesive. Gold shoes were the only request.

Phil chose a tweed suit by Marc Darcy, pairing it with tan accessories and a gold pocket watch to suit the countryside setting. His groomsmen wore blue suits from Bill Child Formalwear, tying in with subtle blue accents throughout the styling.

Rings with intention

Amy wanted to visit a jeweller in person to find the right wedding ring, and worked with Linley Goldsmiths in Worcester. Her shaped diamond band was custom made in platinum to sit perfectly alongside her engagement ring.

Phil’s ring was also custom made in matte platinum, a detail he is still adjusting to.

Stationery and styling

Stationery was ordered through Tavern Creative, including save the dates, invitations and thank you cards. Amy loved being able to create and submit her own designs, keeping everything consistent and personal from the very beginning of the planning process.

The reception was styled with a tipi from Java Tipis, creating separate spaces for dining and dancing. With the sides open and the evening lights glowing, it blended seamlessly into the grounds.

Food, cake and favours

Catering was provided by A to Zest, who delivered a menu that guests loved. The wedding cake was baked by Amy’s mum, a tradition she has carried on for each of her daughters’ weddings.

The three tier cake featured Victoria sponge, lemon drizzle and carrot cake, decorated with handmade icing flowers and topped with a personalised wooden sign. Small icing figurines of their spaniels added a playful finishing touch.

Wedding favours were handmade chocolates by Fingalix Chocolates, presented in ribbon tied boxes with bespoke flavours chosen just for the day.

Photography and film

Photography was by David Liebst Photography, whose relaxed approach allowed Amy and Phil to enjoy their day without feeling overly directed.

Videography was edited by Adam Lyduch, with filming on the day by Libby Blunt Photography. Having video footage was something Amy highly recommends, bringing the day back to life in a way photographs alone cannot.

Entertainment and evening celebrations

The first dance was to Can’t Take My Eyes Off You by Frankie Valli, with perfectly timed confetti cannons adding a joyful moment on the dance floor.

Entertainment included garden games from Dress To Impress By Julie, golf games by The Birdie Club, a photobooth from Fancy Pants Events, and a light up dance floor by The Little Lighting Co.

Evening music was provided by Boutique Disco, who kept the dance floor full well into the night.
